Let's before moving onto understanding Digital Marketing, we shall grasp the understanding of foundational terminologies/definitions required -

1.     Call to Action

Instruction to your audience to provoke a response.

Ex – Save now!

      –Buy now!   Etc.

 

2.     Bounce rate

A %age of visitors who arrived at your site but left after visiting only a page.

 

3.     Click - Through Rate(CTR)

How many clicks were received in relation to the amount of impressions.

             CTR  = No. of clicks

                          No. of impressions

4.     Abandonment

When a user does not reach the goal you have intended.

 

5.     Ad impression

Each time your advertisement is displayed to a user.

 

6.     Frequency

The no. of times a single user will see your advertisement.

Ex – if impression   =   10

        & frequency    =  2

Means, no. of people seen  =  10  =  5

                                                 2

7.     Conversion Rate

The %age of visitors who entered into an experience and completed the goal.

 

8.     Tracking pixel

A 1×1 pixel image that tracks conversations, website visits, and add views.

 

9.     Cost Per Acquisition(CPA)

How much it cost per goal completion.

 

10.   Lifetime value(LTV)

Prediction of the net profit attributed to a customer relationships.

 

11.  Banner Ads(Display Ads)

Static or animated visual images used to generate brand awareness or entice a user to click.

12.  Landing page

The first page a user arrives on when they visit your website.

 

13.  Organic results

Serial listings that achieve rank through search engine optimization.
